PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy combines the three pillars of nutrition, mindfulness and exercise. My belief is that if we can balance those we are set on a good path to health and wellbeing.  Like anyone we live and we learn. I started to experiment with food, meditation and exercise after starting an internal dialogue with my body, mind and soul many years ago. I was living a fast life thriving on stress, indulging in alcohol and sugar cravings, rather than focussing on things that were going to make me feel better and set me up for the future. I downward spiralled developing fatigue, IBS and weight gain. Now my motto is to live by the 80/20 rule. If you invest 80% in a healthy and nutritious lifestyle you can indulge 20% into treats and still have a life full of good times! We all have good and bad days, however if you try stick to a philosophy and listen to your body, nourish your soul and free your mind on a regular basis, you will make progress that's likely to change your life forever. It's tough sometimes but so is living a life feeling tired, unhealthy and ill. I can work with you to develop a plan to optimise your health and wellbeing based on what's realistic to you. Together we collaborate and make it interesting and achievable. It's of course my job to push a little bit and introduce new ways, habits and foods, but my aim is to make it fun. I'm aware that the minute it becomes too hard or boring we give up.

Collaboration, honesty and trust is key to success, as is following your plan to achieve noticeable results.

I believe that vibrant mental and physical health is accessible to each of us. This inner radiance begins through a nutrition & lifestyle foundation deeply rooted in all things wholesomebalanced, and moving

The Three Pillars:

NUTRITION

We need to fuel our machine, the body.

Natural, whole-foods are best. Eat our greens, eat the rainbow, indulge in good fats, especially fish from good sources, ground ourselves, clean ourselves from the inside with fibres and start thinking about eating seasonal, sourced as locally as possible and from soil that's not polluted. It's tough to keep up! However I think it's about pausing, going back to basic, get involved in learning to make and grow things from scratch and planning ahead a little. You need to learn about what your body loves and tolerates. Everyone is different. The affect it has on you daily is incredible.  It's a learning process of course!

I can help you along the way.

MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; On Purpose, in the Present Moment, Non-Judgementally. It's a practice that teaches us of becoming aware of our 'auto pilot' and approach experience by bringing attention to bodily sensations, thoughts, emotions and behaviours and not turning away from unpleasant experiences.

We can bring this practice into our daily lives and to nearly anything we touch on in our lives.

- Slow down. Wake up. Live more.

EXERCISE

It's free, easy to incorporate into our daily routines and has an immediate positive effect It can work as a prevention to chronic illnesses such as heart diseases, stroke, type 2 diabetes and even cancer.

Physical activity can boost your self esteem, mood, sleep quality and energy. Make it part of your daily routine - walk, cycle, run. Find out what you like doing - yoga, badminton, rowing... involve a partner, friend, the kids and enjoy it together!

It will boost your metabolism, circulation and oxygen in your body.

Don't forget to hydrate and stretch to help your body recover better.
